Wilbur Reid

 

Wilbur Reid became the Vice President of Campus Services at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2021. Prior to that role, he worked in corporate management for 27 years and then was a professor for the School of Business and Public Leadership at Johnson University for 7 years. In that role, Dr. Reid taught undergraduate, MBA, and PhD courses primarily in leadership and quantitative topics.

Dr. Reid earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Tennessee (1993), an MA in New Testament from Johnson University (2020), a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University (2013) and a DBA in Data Analytics from Grand Canyon University (2024). Dr. Reid’s first dissertation was titled Development of an Instrument to Measure Level 5 Leadership and second dissertation was titled Level 5 Leadership and Team Leadership Roles in University Athletes. His research interests continue to be focused on leadership, notably Level 5 and servant leadership and their use by Christian leaders across cultures. Research publications include peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter. He wrote a book titled The Marduk Letters: Diabolically eliminating Level 5 and servant leaders, which was published in September 2022. The first half is written in the style of The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and the second half is a scholarly examination of Level 5 and servant leadership.

Dr. Reid’s long-term professional interests include enhancing the quantitative capabilities at Johnson University, leading the campus services teams, and expanding publication of relevant material for young Christian leaders. He has been married for 34 years and has three adult daughters.
